VALENCIA: The Movie/s

There's nothing like returning to a city you'd left 15 years ago, only to find that the queer artists of today decided to throw a Queer Dance Party of Yesterday!

Novelist and poet Michelle Tea put on a dance/art/film party to benefit VALENCIA: The Movie/s, a collaborative film project where 21 filmmakers recreate Tea's novel. DJ Junkyard (who played all over the city in the early days) busted out vinyl along with PINK Lightning. Filmmakers Missus Adams, Justin Kelly, and Bug Davidson showed some film clips, and director Hilary Goldberg and team did a staged reading of Golberg's vision for Chapter 5. Dress 90s, act 90s, be 90s was the theme!

So, Vp grabbed our DIY make-shift camera team and squished in the back room to chat with Ms.Tea and Goldberg about Valencia: The Movies.
